Uruguay: Day 3

Waking early, I headed out for a morning stroll around the estate. After breakfast, our group headed over to the stables where we sat around a fire drinking mate and eating tortas fritas with our guides. Mate is a traditional South American drink typically drank by the gauchos (cowboys). It is like a hot, very strong Green Tea.

After this, we headed out for our morning ride through the countryside. Taking a different route this time we saw thousands of sheep which we walked through. When our ride was complete, our guide gave us a detailed history of the land and how the estate came to be.

We then hung out around the estate reading and relaxing before lunch (which was another 4 course meal). After lunch, it was time to head back to Montevideo to catch the ship.
